Imicarp Injectable Solution

COMPOSITION

İmicarp Injectable Solution is a colourless or pale yellow coloured, clear and sterile solution. Each ml contains 120 mg of imidocarb dipropionate equivalent to 85 mg of imidocarb.

INDICATIONS FOR USE

Used for antiprotozoal purposes, namely for the treatment and prophylaxis of babesiosis and anaplasmosis in cattle, for the treatment of babesiosis in sheep, for the treatment and prophylaxis of babesiosis infections in horses, donkeys, mules and dogs.

İmicarp Injectable Solution is effective against protozoa species listed below:

Cattle: Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, Anaplasma marginale

Sheep: B. ovis

Horses: B. caballi and B. equi

Donkeys and mules: B. caballi

Dogs: B. canis

ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS

It is administered by intramuscular and subcutaneous routes. Since its dose volume is low for small animals such as sheep and dog, it should be used with a syringe marked with indicators of 0.1 ml. Pharmacologic dose of imidocarb dipropionate varies between 1.2 – 6 mg/kg bw depending on animal type and application purpose. Pharmacologic doses are 1.2 mg/kg bw for the treatment of babesiosis in cattle and sheep, 3 mg/kg bw for the treatment of anaplasmosis in cattle. Prophylactic dose is 3 mg/kg bw in cattle, treatment and prophylactic doses are 2.4 mg/kg bw in equidae and 6 mg/kg bw in dogs.

 WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)

Cattle and sheep should not be slaughtered during the treatment and 28 days for cattle and 21 days for sheep after the last administration. Cow milk should not be used for human consumption during the treatment and for 2 days (4 milkings) following the last administration.

Do not use in sheep producing milk for human consumption.

When administered to cattle for 4 – 6 weeks for prophylactic purpose against babesiosis and for the treatment of anaplasmosis (3 mg/kg bw), cattle should not be slaughtered during the treatment and for 213 days following the last treatment, and cattle milk should not be used for human consumption for 7 days (14 milkings).
