COMPOSITION
Novamizol Injectable Solution is a light yellow coloured, clear solution. Each ml contains 500 mg of metamizole sodium monohydrate.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Metamizole has analgesic, spasmolytic, antipyretic, anti-rheumatism and mild sedative activity.
Analgesic: In every type of pain.
Spasmolytic: In the treatment of colic of intestines, stomach and rumen associated with gas, constipation and diarrhea, in the treatment of labour and post-natal pain, against spasms of tetany, uterine prolapse, spasm of cervix uteri and oesophagus, and fixing tetany and renal spasms, against post-operative pain.
Antipyretic: Against pneumonia, bronchitis, distemper and other febrile diseases.
Anti-rheumatism: Against rheumatism of muscles and joints, joint pain and lumbago, acute and chronic polyarthritis, tendinitis and tendovaginitis.
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
It’s administered as deep intramuscular (IM) injection to all animals and as slow intravenous (IV) injection in acute conditions at the dose of 20 – 60 mg/kg bw to horses, 20 – 40 mg/kg bw to cattle, 50 – 100 mg/kg bw to dogs, unless recommended otherwise by the veterinarian. If necessary, administration may be repeated at 8 hour intervals within the same day. Practical doses are given in the table below.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Cattle should not be slaughtered for human consumption during the treatment or for 12 days after the last treatment. Do not use in cows producing milk for human consumption.
