Flutron Pour-on Solution

COMPOSITION

Flutron Pour-on Solution is a yellowish – dark brown – red coloured solution. Each ml contains 10 mg of flumethrin.

INDICATIONS FOR USE

It is indicated in cattle and sheep for elimination of both adult and developing single or multi-host ticks (Boophilus spp., Hyalomma spp., Rhipicephalus spp., Ixodes ricinusAmblyomma spp., Dermacentor spp.), sucking and biting lice (Haematopinus sternusLinognathus vituliBovicola bovisB. ovisMelophagus ovinus), psoroptic mange (Psoroptes ovis). In dogs, it is indicated in the treatment and control of demodex mange.

ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS

Unless advised otherwise by the veterinarian, the cap of the polyethylene bottle is opened and by pressing the bottle slightly, required amount of solution is filled to the upper part. Then the bottle is released and the solution in the upper part is poured along the back part of the cattle. Application dosage varies according to the parasite type. Pharmacological dosage of flumethrin is 1 mg/kg bw against ticks and biting lice, as for psoroptes mange and sucking lice it is 2 mg/kg bw. Application dosages are as follows:

Sheep: Application can be performed in two different ways:

  1. a) Sheep that has just been trimmed, application is carried out by pouring over the back part of the sheep. If sheep’s hair is long, then this hair is separated to both sides and dosage is poured between these sides.
  2. b) The animal is sat down on its hip, and the dosage is applied to the sides of the stomach and the parts between the front and back legs that have no hair. The dosage is drawn to an injector that has no needle and it is applied in many spots.

Application for psoroptic mange and lice: Two times of the dose stated above is used in cattle and sheep.

Dogs: In case of Demodex mange, it is applied at 1 ml / 10 kg bw. The product should be applied topically by pouring along the backline in a narrow strip extending from the withers to the tailhead and it may also be directly applied to the regions of lesion.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)

Withdrawal period is 0 (zero) days for cattle milk and meat and sheep meat during the treatment and after the last treatment. Do not use in sheep producing milk for human consumption.
