Amoxygen Injectable Suspension

COMPOSITION

Amoxygen Injectable Suspension is a white – cream – yellowish coloured, sterile, oily suspension. Each ml contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 150 mg of amoxicillin and gentamycin sulfate equivalent to 40 mg of gentamycin.

INDICATIONS FOR USE

Used for the treatment of respiratory, digestive, urogenital system infections caused by bacteria sensitive to amoxicillin and gentamycin, and for the treatment of soft tissue infections. It is mainly used in pasteurellosis, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, foot infections and abscesses.

ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS

Unless advised otherwise by the veterinarian, it is administered to cattle and horses as deep intramuscular injection for 3 days.

Practically;

Calves and foals: 1 ml / 10 kg bw

Cattle and horses: 5 ml / 50 kg bw

Shake the vial vigorously to obtain a homogenous suspension. Injections more than 5 ml in calves and foals and injections more than 20 ml in cattle and horses should be divided and administered to different sites. Dosing should be done carefully, especially in small animals. Overdosing should be avoided. Do not use intravenously.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)

Cattle should not be slaughtered for human consumption during the treatment or for 80 days following the last treatment. Cow milk should not be used for human consumption during the treatment or for 4 days (8 milkings) following the last treatment.
