COMPOSITION<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Metafos Injectable Solution is a colourless or pale yellow coloured solution. Each ml contains 200 mg of toldimfos sodium (sodium-4-dimethylamino-2-methylphenyl-phosphate). Content of organically combined phosphorus is 14%.<\/p>\n

INDICATIONS FOR USE<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

It is used for the treatment of deficiency of phosphorus, events of osteomalacia and rickets related to deficiency of phosphorus, disorders of balance of calcium and phosphorus, hypophosphatemia events frequently seen in ruminants and general debility states in cattle, horse, sheep, goat, cats and dogs. Furthermore, it is used as a source of phosphorus for young animals which are in the rapid development and growth phase and in highly productive animals, particularly in milking cows and excessive phosphorus is being excreted in diseases with hypophosphatemia conditions, to support general conditions, in reproductive disorders, during convalescence and in calcium and magnesium metabolism disorders.<\/p>\n

ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

It is administered intramuscularly, intravenously or subcutaneously at the dose of 10 mg\/kg bw to all animal species. Unless recommended otherwise by the veterinarian, practical doses are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\nAdministration may be continued for 2 – 3 days. In chronic cases, administration to sick animals can be done 5 – 10 times at 2 – 3 day intervals until a clinical improvement is seen.<\/p>\n

Intramuscular injection in horses should be divided and injected into different sites.<\/p>\n

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

Withdrawal period is 0 (zero) days for meat and milk.<\/p>\n
