COMPOSITION
Teknosül Injectable Solution is a light yellow – yellow coloured solution. Each ml contains 200 mg of sulfamethoxazole and 40 mg of trimethoprim.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
It is indicated in horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs and cats in the treatment of systemic infections caused by bacteria sensitive to the combination.
– Respiratory system infections (Pasteurella pneumonias, enzootic pneumonias, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, pleuritis etc.)
– Gastrointestinal system infections (infections caused by E. coli and Salmonella spp., gastritis, enteritis and gastroenteritis)
– Urogenital system infections (nephritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis, vaginitis and as a parenteral supportive for metritis)
– Other soft tissue infections and secondary bacterial complications of viral infections
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
It is administered as intramuscular and slow intravenous injections. Intramuscular and intravenous injections in cattle, sheep and goats; slow intravenous injection with solution being close to the body temperature in horses; intravenous and intramuscular injections in dogs and intramuscular injection in cats are advised. Subcutaneous injections should be avoided because of the local reactions.
Unless advised otherwise by the veterinarian, practical dose is 1 ml Teknosül / 10 – 15 kg bw for 3 – 5 days. Aseptic criteria should be met during administration.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Cattle, sheep and goats should not be slaughtered for human consumption during the treatment and for 14 days following the last treatment. Cow, ewe and goat milk should not be used for human consumption during the treatment and for 5 days (10 milkings) following the last treatment.
