COMPOSITION
Klavicure Injectable Suspension is a cream – dirty yellow coloured sterile suspension. Each ml contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 140 mg of amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate equivalent to 35 mg of clavulanic acid.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
It is indicated in cattle, dogs and cats for the treatment of systemic infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
Cattle: In the treatment of respiratory system infections (pneumonia, bronchopneumonia, pleuropneumonia), gastrointestinal system infections, urogenital system infections (nephritis, pyelonephritis, cystitis), skin and soft tissue infections (abscesses, joint and umbilical infections), wounds and feet infections, post-operative infections and also as a parenteral supportive in local treatment of mastitis and metritis.
Cats and dogs: In the treatment of respiratory system infections, gastrointestinal system infections, skin and soft tissue infections such as abscesses, gingivitis, anal sacculitis and pyoderma, urogenital system infections such as nephritis, cystitis and urethritis and post-operative infections.
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
Unless advised otherwise by the veterinarian, administer at the dose of 8.75 mg/kg bw/day (7 mg amoxicillin and 1.75 mg clavulanic acid) to cattle, dogs and cats by intramuscular and subcutaneous routes. Shake the vial vigorously before use to obtain a homogenous suspension. Massage the injection site following subcutaneous and intramuscular injections. A dry and sterile needle and injector should be used for injection.
Practically; 1 ml Klavicure Injectable Suspension / 20 kg bw. Continue the treatment for 3 – 5 days.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD(S)
Cattle should not be slaughtered for human consumption during the treatment and for 20 days following the last treatment. Cow milk should not be used for human consumption during the treatment and for 4 days (8 milkings) following the last treatment.
