COMPOSITION
Blotsim Oral Emulsion is a red coloured, viscous, fluid emulsion. Each ml contains 100 mg of simethicone (dimethylpolysiloxane).
INDICATIONS FOR USE
It is used for the treatment of accumulated excessive gas related to nourishment in horses. In cattle, sheep and goats; for the treatment of bloat caused by taking copious amounts of green grass in spring, animals being put out to pasture incautiously at arable fields in summer, frothy tympanies in rumen resulting from consuming excessive amounts of green leguminosae plants like clover.
ADMINISTRATION ROUTES AND AMOUNTS
It is used for both therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in gaseous tympany of horses and ruminants. It is used before turn out to pasture in spring, particularly for prophylactic purposes. It is mixed with about 1 litre of water and administered by rubber stomach tube or bottle through the mouth or administered to the rumen or cecum directly in serious cases. Before administering to rumen or cecum directly, remove a little amount of gas by trocar and give the undiluted emulsion afterwards using trocar. Generally, single application is sufficient. Unless recommended otherwise by the veterinarian, single dosing is as follows:
